Course Information
Safe Use for Australian Workplaces
Ladders are involved in a high number of serious workplace injuries, often because they are used incorrectly, on unstable surfaces, or for tasks they were never designed to do.
Portable Ladder Safety Training provides workers with practical guidance on selecting, inspecting, setting up, and using ladders safely in Australian workplaces. The course focuses on everyday tasks where step ladders and extension ladders are commonly used, rather than specialist work at height.
Learners are shown when a ladder is appropriate, when it is not, and what controls must be in place to prevent falls. The course reinforces that ladders are a high-risk piece of equipment and must be treated accordingly under Australian WHS laws.
This training supports safer work practices and helps meet legal duties to provide safe plant, safe systems of work, and appropriate instruction.
This course takes approximately 20 mins to complete.
